After everything, my favorite companion was just some assaultron I built. Disable voicelines as much as possible, make sure it has normal legs so it's not getting stuck on everything... Good times.

I think a lot of the terrible pathfinding has to do with fallout 4 having a lot of "flavor animation" not being compensated for by the AI, things like making a dead stop and immediately turning and proceeding the opposite way. if you've played in 3rd person for more than 2 minutes you probably know what I'm talking about

I can't count the number of times he'd kill something before I had so much of a notion that something to kill was anywhere close to where I was. also I hope you're ready to see the camera constantly jumping to whatever thing boone killed if you have the cinematic camera on. speaking of companions/bethesda/fallout/new vegas why does bethesda act like the companion wheel just doesn't exist

In Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, you couldn't give your companions burst weapons because there was a very good chance they would completely obliterate you at the first opportunity.
