I'm trying to figure out who are the people who think that 2 years of experience as a shift supervisor is needed for someone who gets a bachelor's degree. Like what exactly is the Choice 1 person who is a shift supervisor doing that Choice 2 shouldn't be capable of instantly traversing (at least, according to paper) as they're probably a person with above average intelligence? Is a shift supervisor really that challenging? Lol...I think a bachelor's should qualify someone to be a store manager instantly with no experience.

Some experience is better than no experience, and in my mind I associate not having a bachelors with him or her willfully sticking around longer, which is more convenient for me.

Probably choice one. I've learned that experience is more important than education with jobs such as a lead or shift lead. Also more experience working full time is important if the person will be expected to work long hours. I've had college graduates completely drop the ball because their schedule (literally 40 hours a week lol) was too arduous for them. That's just my experience though.

Not everyone can be an effective manager. I'd rather take a chance on someone with experience than someone without. Yes, I know there are dumb people with college degrees, but if I have to generalize for hiring someone, I would pick the person with the college degree, because knowledge contributes to intelligence and better decisions, etc. And again, shift supervisor LOL...that's all. Wtf does experience really matter here? ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's management experience. If you've ever got stuck with a bad manager hired externally who needed to relearn the job from his or her subordinates and who had no idea how to build a team, you know the value of experience.

Two years of experience doing the job I'm hiring for vs no experience in the job I'm hiring for.
Seems pretty cut and dry. If I'm not requiring a bachelors degree, than clearly education is not as important. There might be a couple of swaying factors though. As others have mentioned, the vibe I get from them. I'd also take into account what their degree is in. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Choice 1 instantly jumps out at me as being more likely to be a good candidate. I have a Bachelor's myself along with years of work experience in management. The Bachelor's did help a little, but not as much as the first two years of management experience did.
