Capcom will be hosting an Ace Attorney panel at the Tokyo Game Show this year.

The panel will go for a full 40 minutes on September 22nd, both the series producers Motohide Eshiro and game designer Shinsuke Kodama will be at the panel.

So aside from a cool 40 minutes of talking about Ace Attorney, just what will be there? According to Capcom, the panel will be unmissable for Ace Attorney fans.

Give me anything that I can actually play (IE no DGS).

I'll be mildly sad if it's AAI3 since AAI2 was fantastic but we'd never see I3, and I don't have a way to emulate 3DS games.

Just hoping for AA7 really. 6 was fantastic and I'm eager for more.

Not the Edgeworth games, and Apollo Justice/Dual Destinies doesnt have any "strictly" supernatural stuff aside from when Phoenix whips out his magatama.

This, although AA4 and AA5 have relatively low amounts of it compared to the others. AA4 in particular, it's almost more a matter of just super-sensitive senses than "supernatural", for the most part. Likewise, much (though not all) of AA5's "supernatural" stuff is more of the same, plus sci-fi, than supernatural.

You can kind of forget and pretend the magatama isn't supernatural if you just play it off as super good lie detector like AA2, 4, and 5 did.

I will say the whole spirit channeling has probably been played out at this point. I think they've taken that as far as they can go.

Then again I still fall for the mask trick in Mission Impossible.

I will say that I don't see how they could top 3-5 or 6-5 in that regard.

I really really disliked spirit channeling in the original trilogy including in 3-5 because being able to talk with the dead and having the dead be able to continue to commit crimes kind of ruins the point of murder mysteries imo but I actually liked how it was done in SoJ. I think it's because they realize how different it is so they made up an entirely new system to incorporate just how much talking/seeing the dead's last memories changes things (unlike in previous instances were just "hey there's ghosts too" with an otherwise realistic system)I actually really liked 6-3's the victim was the antagonist thing.

More like make Phoenix actually incorporate his development from Apollo Justice in his character rather than being locked to his original trilogy persona with no changes and no growth.

Also kill off Athena. She's worthless. Have Iris come back with a psychology degree to take on her gameplay gimmick instead.

At this point why do we even care about getting AAI2 localized? The fan translation is fine any improvement Capcom can make on it with an official translation is miniscule.

Athena really does need something, though. Trucy, too, for that matter. Trucy has been relevant for all of 1 case since AA4, and Athena got a short filler case in 6 (where Blackquill stole the show anyway). AA6's DLC case actually actively mocks how irrelevant Athena is.

Really, a case where Phoenix is out of town and Athena & Trucy team up would help both a lot.

I'm guessing they'll stich with Phoenix as the main character now. But I do like the method of letting other characters shine in some of the cases.

The issue with Phoenix these days is that it's hard to see him as the underdog after this many entries and having his reputation restored. His career has long since surpassed Mia at this point.

Well it'd be super weird to make an AAI3 when there is no official way for international audiences to get AAI2. Neither they nor most gaming websites can advocate for the way to do so (especially with Nintendo going crazy over it recently). It'd be nice if they could collaborate with the fan version somehow to just use that.

Doubt it will be third person, but odds are the next AA will be on Switch.

They soft confirmed AA7 last year by saying that the upcoming AA and future titles in the series will be in Switch.

There have also been murmurs of porting the entire main series to Switch.
