Newton is probably the most brilliant person to have ever lived. He discovered/invented/created (or whatever term you want to use) calculus at roughly the same rate college students learn it today. In his fucking 20s. And that's just a small part of the contributions he made to physics and mathematics.

And there are plenty of really really influential people throughout history. Gauss, Maxwell, Euler, Noether, Cook, Turing, etc. And that's just within math/physics. Don't discount people like Popper, Darwin, etc or even authors, composers etc. Bach, Beethoven, and so on were amazing geniuses.

I just want to mention that Alchemy was treated more like a science than a mystical art. Yes, there were those who used mysticism with it. That said, a lot of alchemy wound up becoming actual chemistry. Nomenclatures like sulfate, nitrate, Etc all came from Alchemy.

Kinda like Bell vs Edison on the topic of the telephone. Bell invented it if you wanna be technical but before Edison, it was redundant considering that by the time you yelled loud enough to be heard over it, they could hear you through the air anyway.

gunplagirl posted...Newton was probably gay Are you seriously unaware of how many historic figures were gay as hell but had it erased? Anne Frank, had an emotionally involved crush on a girl. DaVinci was arrested twice for sodomy. James Buchanan lived with a man and Andrew Jackson referred to the two as gay. Eleanor Roosevelt's love letters to a woman still exist. Hell, the term "eternal bachelor" was a term used to refer to a man who would never marry, not because he wasn't interested in settling down, but because he was gay and society wouldn't accept such unions.
