was pretty decent.

when Arnie goes away at the end did he forget that his other arm was just on the floor somewhere at the steel mill? Though I guess the chip was the important part...

Rise is decent, but at the same time the weakest of the first four, IMO.

And yeah, general consensus is that it was a fuck up on the heroes' part at the end.

Just remember that only the first two films are canon. The next three all have their own continuity and get progressively worse with each one, but they're still worth a watch in a "so bad they're good" kind of way. I mean it's actually impressive how bad they get.

t2 is a great movie
though the ages are a little off

john looks like his actor is about 13/14
but in the movie he is about 10 years old

and its mentioned in a scene that sarah conner is 29 so that would mean she would have been about 18 during the events of the first movie.

of course the actress was in her 30s at the time of filming.

both the actress who played sarah and the actress's identical twin sister were sent to a boot camp to give them a believable body for a badass putting on like 30 pounds of muscle mass

which sucks for the twin sister because she is only in one scene of the movie (you know the one)

I like to pretend that T1 and T2 are the only ones that exist. T3 is bad, embarrassingly bad. Salvation is bad too but its kind of a guilty pleasure. Genesys is ok, it was a nice attempt but still not great.

Only things Terminator worth watching are T1 T2 and Sarah Connor Chronicles. T3 and Genisys are abominations. Salvation was so so

T3 is pretty bad, but it's enjoyable if you like Arnold's films.

It seems T6 is going to be a sequel to T2.

I like Salvation because it's the only movie to take place entirely after Judgment Day. It was nice to finally see the war instead of being told about it by whatever model Arnold is playing at the time.

Otherwise Terminator 2 is and always will be the best movie out of all of them.

It may not be the best, but it's certainly not bad.

It has some of the worst and most cringeworthy moments in any of the Terminator movies. The actors were all miscasts, and the Terminatrix was directed so poorly she comes off as cheesy and NOT intimidating or scary in the slightest. The movie is never tense or suspenseful. The story is not moving or compelling, I feel nothing for any of the characters or their fates or their stories in relation to T1 and 2.

The only good thing about T3 is the action scenes and even those are not groundbreaking in the slightest.

T3 tried too hard to have catchy one-liners and stupid gimmicky shit in it. that was all terrible. but it's still worth a watch, just because of the way things turn out. the ending felt like a very real and poignant moment after a bunch of meaningless fluff.

3 is an okay movie with a great ending, but yeah, it's been awhile but either it's a case where two inexperienced heroes under duress fucked up and left the arm behind, or (more likely) the arm was meaningless compared to the brain that was actually driving it.

T3 is an absolute steaming pile of shit. LOL @ anyone saying otherwise.

TC, if you can track down the director's cut of T2. I saw you mentioned you were watching these movies on Netflix, and they only have the theatrical. There are only a couple extra scenes in the director's cut, but there's one in particular that changes the tone of the movie. It's a substantial change, improves the movie for the better, and is totally worth tracking down.

It's in a similar vein to Alien(s) where the first is pure horror and the sequel is a horror / action mix.

They hadn't quite found their footing with the first one; little details like Arney getting out of a car and skipping up onto the curb instead of walking like a robot. On the other hand, Arney was way creepier in the original than the sequel, partly due to him losing his eyebrows about a third of the way through.
