I've been trying to keep to around 50-80mg of caffeine a day max ever since I quit drinking pop. I ran out of my Mio energy and just kept forgetting to get tea to cover for it for two days. I think there is at least some research that shows coffee drinkers have less issues with depression but who knows how reliable that research is, haven't read through any of those papers and sometimes stuff comes out contradicting the claim.
