Or are Joycons just fine for a accurate 100% completion for most games?

Or is there a chance I can get four wireless Gamecube controllers at one point that most games other than Smash Bros can support easily?

I'm not sure if any Switch games officially support the game cube controller

The joycons are fine for single player games, but using them for multiplayer sucks

So you still play those kiddie games? Lmao

I am 38 and my daughter is 5. I am pretty much looking to make up for lost time where I felt very lonely as a kid having no one to play video games with. The Internet wasn't a thing yet and liking Final Fantasy would get you made fun of. :(

So Pro Controllers would be the way to go? Can a Pro Controller turn the console on remotely?

Definitely the way to go. It would technically be cheaper to buy the joycons since you'd only need one more set, but using a single joycon to play anything is the worst possible control scheme

The pro controller should be able to turn it on, as it has a home button. You just hold the home button, and the switch comes on. It will also turn your tv on and switch it to the right channel

real-talk, 4 pro controllers won't even allow you to play super mario party, since those only allow joycons.

I'd get 2 pros and 2 sets of joycons, or 1 just 1 pro and 2 joycons, or something like that.

Just buy up pro controllers if thats what you prefer. Id hold off on stocking up until near the end of the console lifecycle though.

At least on the Wii U GameCube controllers could literally only be used on Smash

The Joy-Cons with the grip work fine most times, but I do love the Pro Controller.

The joycons are great for party games.

I don't have a pro yet though. I want to get a USB one since I won't lug around pro controllers to gatherings when we can just use the joy cons.

It's probably better to replace one of those Pro Controllers with a Joycon set. That way you're covered for every single game.

Yes it turns it on by holding down a button in the top right. I would say Pro is better in all ways except maybe motion controls. I feel like Joy Cons disconnected from their controller "station" would be better but I honestly only ever use the Pro so I wouldn't know
