Very few countries need a visa (as in need to apply ahead of time) to go to Japan. You get an automatic 90 day visa upon landing if you are from a first world country and many other countries as well.

Yeah i had to get a visa the first time when we went to Australia earlier this year.

Man. Feels like 11 days isn't enough but we'll try to see as much as we can in the main big island.

I liked it, but if you only have 11 days I would just go to Tokyo and Kyoto; all the best stuff is in those two places and even 11 days isn't enough to see most of it.

I want to go again, it was so great. I stayed at my friend's place in Toyohashi, we mostly hung out in Nagoya and the surrounding region but spent a weekend in Tokyo and my favorite thing was the onsen, I definitely recommend you go

Yeah, that's a hot spring. I don't know the name of any specific one, we went in Tokyo. I think someone else mentioned asking the locals wherever you go for an onsen you could visit, that sounds like a good plan

Its 4 of us now so we are planning to get an airbnb in osaka for half the time and Tokyo the other half.

I live in Hamamatsu.

Just use common sense and dont be an annoying tourist shoving cameras in peoples faces or causing trouble.

Also, if you can, get out of the city. Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka are not really what Japan is. Go somewhere smaller to see real Japan.
