Yeah just tack on another $150 to the cost of buying a gun. Its amazing people are okay with restricting access to second amendment rights like this, but voter id laws are deemed unconstitutional.

If anything the right to vote can cause far more damage than the right to bear arms can. But anyway, its just hilarious how people wanting to restrict the 2A cry about constitutional rights where voter id laws are concerned. Having people go out and spend another $150-200 to buy a weapon is literally the same thing as requiring an id to vote.

The same 14 people who also have to get a hunting license? I assume you're talking about people who hunt for all of their food. Yeah. All 14 of them. More of a minor inconvenience for what doesnt even equate to .0001% of the population of the country is a very small price to pay.

Oh man, $150, bet you're super hot that our tax dollars are gonna go to the Wall that we werent supposed to pay for then, huh? Or our Presidents constant vacations and having to pay for his security as a result? Or is that totally okay with you? Since you wanna bring up other shit thats a "waste of money". Just trying to understand if you care about wasted money in general or if you only consider money wasted if its on something you disagree with.

Also the right to own a gun doesn't actually give you a right to buy a gun, so it's at least not against the constitution to make it harder to buy a gun.

The fact that you think it's just hunting for food shows how little you know about the situations you're complacent with screwing over. They need guns for pest control and protection from wildlife too. Also protection from thieves and trespassers in a place where it takes the police (the one police officer) 30 minutes to an hour to get to you.

I guess I don't understand why something is inherently good just because it's in the Constitution. Isn't that the purpose of amendments? People use to have the right to own slaves too. If psychological evaluations made this country objectively safer, then it would be a pretty weak argument to oppose that just because of your narrow interpretation of a centuries-old document.

No, that is 100% shit.

First off, let's forget the rural people for a second and realize the fact that basically anyone who's ever went to the psychiatrist for depression or anxiety is going to get barred from owning a gun.

Second, psych evals cost money, and I'm sure as fuck not footing the bill with my taxes.

Abridging any of the Bill of Rights is a major taboo in America because of the sacrosanct nature they have gained over the years. A politician calling for any one of them to be modified or repealed is essentially committing political suicide. That's why there is always a fight over SCOTUS appointees when there's an opening: they can change the interpretation of anything in the Constitution without fear of backlash or reprisal.

Are you okay with your taxes going to the wall we "werent paying for" and the presidents vacations? I hope not.

I get it though, you dont want to lose your right to own a gun because of whatever mental unwellness you've got. Its fine.
