I've been a sexually active gay male since high school, I'm employed with my own place, typically have great luck picking up guys, and my college has a pretty nice selection for easy hook ups. Not much to be upset about. But even I can admit that, like straight culture, American LGBT culture has it's own share of superficiality when it comes to dating and sex. A lot of LGBT folk are picky too. It's not hard to find minority men who have experienced the negative effects of that. People who say "getting sex as a gay/bi guy is super easy compared to straight dating" are conveniently leaving out how that doesn't apply equally to across all demographics of gay/bi men. If anything, for some of them it's straight up harder. For example, there is a very clear amount of favoritism towards white or white-mixed partners within gay male communities (that includes minorities seeking white or white-mixed partners). The silver lining by comparison is that the average looking man with a regular middle class job is going to face less hurdles finding male sex partners because men in general are just more ambitious about casual sex. Male-on-male partners tend to have less strings attached when it comes to sexual availability (LGBT culture encourages this). Even the more superficial candidates in communities are occasionally open to pump 'n' dump Joe Blow Averageman if it means getting satisfied. Keep in mind that racial trends in dating still apply. If your racial/ethnic demographic isn't popular with certain types of hetero women, it's not going to be much different with their LGBT counterparts. Lots of LGBT folk are racially/ethnically discriminating as fuck too... LGBT are worse with racial discrimination. Asian, black and Indian men are even more reviled by gay white men and Asian females are the most highly sought after lesbian partner by all races.
