I've only played Fortnite and only for a little bit but I mostly just find it boring and too random. Sometimes I'll drop in and get my ass kicked immediately or sometimes I'll just run around like a jackass and finish in the top 30 because I didn't see a single person until over five minutes in

I like it, it's a thrill not knowing what's around every corner.

I feel this way too, but outside of MOBAs (not a fan of the base gameplay). Personally, I feel really bad for being the domino that caused a defeat for our team. I'd rather be only accountable for myself in a solo game/sport.

I'm not huge on FN but have been playing a bit here and there since someone one my list has challenges for playing with a friend. I mean the random factor is annoying compared to something like Battlefield or Doom. But until the next ones of those come out this will keep me from getting rusty.

The times where the random works in your favor is good though. One night I landed only to find some shields and a pistol. I'll be damned but I bagged 3 people with it because I surprised them and fired faster. If you play only to win you'll just get pissed off. Go in thinking 'at least if I take a few down with me' then it's not terrible. The modes matter too. Solo is tougher than playing with friends since they can revive you. When I first tried Battlezone on PSVR it was way harder for the same reason - no chance to revive when alone.

Fortnite. I think we have each other added. I stopped playing for a while cause my buddy I played with all the time got into a bad car accident and playing just made me sad :(
