For example: someone is religious and follows an established edict that is a cornerstone to their faith, but also states that they cannot lie, cheat, covet, lust, kill, etc and if they do, theyll be damned to spend eternity in hell. However, if they apologize to their god and beg forgiveness, all will be okay, as if they never lied on their tax returns, slept with their married neighbor, perved on the underage girls at the mall, laundered money to evade taxes, etc. These crimes are all forgiven and okay just because their god says so and supposedly in their gods eyes, its good, and the person is okay with putting all this behind them like a bad dream?

Or something else like a daughter of the county judge texting while driving and hitting another car which kills the occupants. The judge isnt able to preside over the case, obviously, but because he has friends in high places, is able to get a favor or lean on the judge that is handling the case and his daughter is able to get away with minor consequences. And the judge is okay with abusing his power and connections to help his daughter evade rightful punishment?

Or something else like a county prison warden taking money from the fund for the inmates food, laundering it, and then using it to help pay for their new vacation home on the grounds of it being what hes done right by the inmates and the inmates still have enough food.

What's the actual question you're trying to postulate? Or is this observance only? I personally think that there is no inherent right or wrong is this world, but there is good and bad.

Killing isn't right or wrong by itself, it can be justified. See self-defense and some wars. Killing however, is bad for the victim in terms of survival. I'm very sure that there are plenty of examples that can counter my claim to there being no right or wrong while there also being good or bad, but the right/good, wrong/bad combinations certainly are not mutually exclusive.

I agree that killing can be justified, but it takes a certain kind of person to just put it all behind them. I mean, looking at it literally, they just killed another person, be it accidentally in a car crash or when messing around inside their home, on the frontlines at the order of a superior, or whatever. That person is dead and no longer living. That person will no longer spend time with family or friends, is not able to do their job anymore so the company suffers by whatever percentage, and their potential will noloinger be fulfilled. To just put all that behind like wiping the slate clean...I dunno man.
