Ozai's feats are beating a child, being defenseless without his bending against said child (granted Zuko was a teenager now), and fighting while powered up to a great degree. If their is no comet to back him up I'll say Roy takes this handily. I dont remember if he has lightning but a flick of the fingers is faster than the motions needed for lightning bending.

Roy would destroy him. There really is no defense against what Roy does. Lightning would be his only chance, but it takes way too long to do the little lightning pose they do, while Roy only needs to snap his fingers.

Yeah, "flame alchemy" is understating it a bit. He basically makes bombs with a snap of his fingers.

Roy's alchemy works by purifying the oxygen in the air, making it flammable and then igniting it. By the time the fire's made for Ozai to control, he's already on fire.

Wait, so Roy can just think anyone into spontaneous combusting? Why doesn't he just kill all the villains instantly, then?

The most threatening ones have ridiculously good regen/crazy good durability. Or something like that, been a while. But I think each time he encountered one he DID fuck them up beyond belief and maybe even killed one. Can't remember tho lol.

I don't know if that's right, since he couldn't do anything like that when he fought Scar. It's been awhile, but I don't think I saw him even attempt to spontaneously combust anyone. I only saw him throwing fireballs around.

It's not so much that he spontaneously combusts people, it's that the "fuse" moves so fast that he may as well be. There's basically a split second between the snap and the combustion. Relative to that, firebending is much more methodical and slow.

Mustang doesn't actually get into that many fights in the show because he is so OP. Off the top of my head, there are four:
With Lust, she initially has the upper hand because he's fairly unfamiliar with a homunculi's abilities. Despite soaking his ignition gloves by slicing through a water pipe, he incinerates her using the hydrogen in that water and the flint in a lighter. He's not expecting her to regenerate, so she's able to take him by surprise. When he goes at her with that knowledge, he destroys her.

The fight with Scar happens to be in the rain. Presumably, using the hydrogen in rainwater to make a firebomb when there are a bunch of people around isn't a great idea, so he doesn't really get into it.

Gluttony uses his false gate to suck in whatever fire Roy creates.

And with Envy, it's just a ceaseless ass-whooping.

Roy Mustang. I find that the elements in the Avatar world are on the lower-end of the power scale when compared to most anime that make use of some version of element manipulation, especially because the creators of Avatar went to some lengths to make sure every element feels equally powerful to the other ones, with only the Avatar coming out on top because well, they're the Avatar and are able to bend all of them.

Roy's ability is so broken. Just basically endless amounts of fire instantly summoned with no effort. Guy is a beast.

Seems like bending in the avatar universe is not nearly so straightforward.

He killed one easily and nearly killed the other but held back. Both of these were basically immortal so he had to kill them like 20 times to make it stick.
