https://www.reddit.com/r/NEET/comments/96tpbg/i_cant_comprehend_how_normal_people_are_able_to/

So yesterday I woke up, went to the store and did some shopping. Came back, mowed the lawn (only because the city will fine me if I don't). Then went inside, checked my e-mail, noticed one of the things I put up on ebay sold. Packaged it, took it to the post office. Came home, made dinner, ate, and washed the dishes.

For me, all of this was stressful and exausting. So much so that I've done nothing all day today just to mentally recover. But for a normal person, this is literally just doing a couple chores and running a couple errands. Most normies could do this on a work day while taking on other responsibilities, all without breaking a sweat.

My brain can't process how they're able to do it. My brain is so defective that the daily grind of a normal person is an unfathomable nightmare from my perspective.

To be fair, I think this person has something wrong with them and is aware of it. I honestly think you have to have some kind of mental illness to enjoy the NEET life. I was unfortunately living it for a good chunk of 2017 and I was out of my mind miserable by the end of it.

I always get a post-work crash but I always bounce back after a 20-minute nap and a cup of tea. I feel really bad for everyone on that board. I can't imagine wanting to make fun of them. I just want to see them all get better and pursue their dreams.

I imagine this can be the same of having a full time job for the first time. I remember personally being a part timer for years while at college and uni, never being able to fathom how normal people can constantly work 9-5.

Then when i got my first full time job, it felt like i couldn't handle it at all having to do that constantly. Granted i was still working at my part time job over the weekend as well for 6 months straight as well as my full time job.

I think its just being able to build tolerance to the worklife and getting used to it. I doubt anyone would be perfectly content being thrown into a new type of lifestyle off the bat.

I know people shit on NEET's but to be frank some people have mental health issues that need to be overcome. Now if he did this every day for a month he would likely be far more "Normal" but that's where illness kicks in and kills their executive function.

i'm not saying there isn't anything wrong with this person, but actually some of this stuff could take a while.

for example, what type of shopping? for clothes? if you have to find something particular and you can't, you'll have to bounce around. shit doesn't fit. etc. could take you a few hours.

if i had to scoop the poop before i mowed, it would take me two hours to do that and mow my front/back yard. wife scoops, i mow, so it's not as long for me.

then having to come back home and then leave again to ship something. that's an hour for me.

depending on how well things go for you could take a work day to do. there's no fucking way i'd do all of this after work, which is what that person thinks.

if it's taken him the whole day to do all of it, then what he said after about how "normal people" could do all of that after work doesn't make any sense. either he took all day to do everything, or it took him a few hours and it exhausted him. if it's the first case, then that doesn't seem abnormal, just something they aren't used to

I mean If this was me I would consider it a decently productive day:

Go Grocery shopping. Takes about 1 hour, round trip to the store and back.
Put Groceries away. 15 minutes to organize everything and bring it in.
Mow lawn. This widely varies from person to person but it's usually 30 min to 1 hour for an average person, so lets say 45 minutes.
Come back inside, relax, open up the emails. 15 minutes.
Package up something, bring to post office. 30 minutes to pack, mail and come home.
Make dinner. 20 minutes to prep, 10 minutes to eat, 10 minutes to clean up.

That is a solid 3.5 hours of stuff to do. Assuming you started @ 10am, and didn't work 100% continuously, this is a productive day off IMO and not something that you can just toss into a work day.
