How can something without a functioning brain/consciousness be murdered? There is nothing to kill.

Technically no, since murder is a legally-defined term

its developing. it's alive. if you leave it alone, it turns into a human baby. so by that logic, it is human

I can swab a culture of my cells an put them in a petri dish and they will have just as much sentient viability as a fetus. And where do you draw the line for potential life? Are you committing murder every time you fap? Intellectually, there is no viable, evidence based reason to call abortion murder.

at conception

sperm cells and eggs can't become human on their own. but when they mix, they do. I draw the line at the moment of conception. it's pretty simple really

Yeah, but it is completely arbitrary and not based on any sort of scientific rationale. The person who says sperm are human is just as correct as you are. The fact is (and I mean a literal, scientific fact) that a consciousness cannot exist without a brain.

sperm on it's own doesn't turn into a human. and cells in a petri dish won't turn human either. sperm cells mixed with an egg turn into a human, when gestated for 9 months in a womb

Thats nice. None of the above have a brain though and are therefore not sentient beings. You cannot murder something that is not conscious (unless you consider harvesting plants to be murder).

I think I have argued with you before about this. your saying the same stuff as from a memory I have. we both refuse to budge. so whatever. its pointless. I'm never going to change my mind on this.

I have never met someone who wasnt religious and thought abortion is murder. It is illogical. You are just picking a random starting point for life that is not anchored in any sort of empirical rationale.

Well, I mean, it's technically true.

On point, tho. Abortion is not murder, because murder is the unlawful ending of human life. Abortion is legal, therefore it cannot be murder. It's unquestionable, depending on fetal development stage, that you are ending a human life. That was never the question, tho.

No, and let's be clear. In the Bible you have two instances that support this.

The trial of bitter water for adulterers.

Mosus ruling a miscarriage as lost property instead of a life taken.
