Because of how stupid they are about it, I want to get a hot dog in Chicago and order it plain and then pull out my own ketchup bottle and put it on there right in front of the vendor.

If anything they'll be more agitated with you holding up the line - I went to Chicago a few months ago & ate at UB Dogs, and those lines move quick.

I live near Chicago. This is the prime area where having ketchup on hot dogs is a major no go. I don't like ketchup at all either, too.

As an out-of-stater YEARS ago, some friendsI was visiting took me to Ed Debevic's for lunch. I ordered a hot dog with ketchup. They dropped character and were just....dumbfounded. >_>

For me, Ketchup is bland.

Anything that Ketchup can do, a BBQ sauce variant can do better.

I just substitute in BBQ sauce for Ketchup in everything =D

Who cares what people want on their food. Its like those restaurants that get butthurt if you dont use the right terms for items and refuse to serve you. Like calling it a philly cheesesteak in philly is a famous example. Its obvious the person isnt from there and wants to try the food of your city. Stop being a whiny bitch and get over it.

I haven't had ketchup on a burger in forever because I tend to just use hot sauces or pepper powders.

Don't eat hotdogs...or any meat. But ketchup is THE best condiment. It's so versatile. Also, spicy ketchup.
