Because everyone wants dirty air. Yay!

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/08/trump-to-relax-rules-for-coal-fired-plants-likely-leading-to-surge-in-co2-emissions.html

The change in rule that the administration will put forward is projected to release at least 12 times the amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere compared with the Obama rule over the next decade, reports the Washington Post. The proposed rules would give more power to the states to set their own standards in what could very well amount to the Trump administrations broadest effort to help the coal sector as a whole.

It's easy to justify.

He's literally just delivering on his campaign promises to save the coal industry.

He never said he wasn't going to do this.

He values the American economy over the global enviroment.

Most conservatives do.

But coal isn't a very big part of the economy, encouraging development of cleaner energy would have a bigger impact.

Conservative stance is to bleed fossil fuels while it's viable and then switch to cleaner energy down the line when it's cheaper.

America is part of the environment. Just saying. Also coals time is at an end. The industry is diminishing and the smart move is to focus on the next big power source before coal is done with. Forcing the industry to stay alive isn't wise. It is false hope. Trump should focus on industries that will get bigger not keep alive one that has been on life support for decades. It's out dated.

That is a problem with conservatives. There is nothing wrong with respecting the past and remembering it fondly. However it causes more hard then good when you cling to the past and let the rest of the world move right past you.

The more they melt, the more sea levels will rise, which will screw over coastal cities worldwide and lead to a global crisis.

That's not "liberal propaganda". That's scientific fact.

I don't think people really understand things besides a few sound bites.

Co2 has always been increasing, if you look at Mars and Venus that's just what planets this close do.

Now let's say you get rid of coal, what exactly are you going to do with all the things that run on coal? Who is paying for this massive overhaul for something that we can't even most likely control.

Obama didn't cause that (and by the way, governor Rick Snyder--a Republican--and his administration have been blamed for that); meanwhile, Trump is actually trying to roll back environmental safety standards.
