Pretty sure this has been a thing for as long as people have been murdering, which is as long as people have been peopling.
If you kill someone close to you, it's about the best way you can try to hide, besides disappearing completely. Fortunately we know this, so we can catch a lot of folks who try it. --- Q ... Copied to Clipboard!

I remember a decade or two ago some parents were pleading and crying on tv for someone to find their kid. Turns out they killed him.

If someone is going to kill a loved one and try to get away with it, then pretending to be upset about the person's death is the only option they have.
