Why do liberals blame guns and never the people who think "ima go shoot up this house/car full of people/store/park".

Does blaming the weapon make more sense than the person who uses it? Good luck fixing the problem if that's the case, cause it's never gonna happen.

Doubt that people will stop feuding and play nice should guns magically disappear from the streets.

A novel idea would be to go after criminals, perhaps locking them away from society due to their tendency to resort to violence for any grievances incurred

Yeah, probably because the typical weekend murder count in Chicago is on par with the 2-3 most major school shootings the U.S. has each year. One of which is treated like an "epidemic demanding restriction of second amendment rights," while the other is scoffed off because it's highly inconvenient to a narrative given who's doing most of the killing.

1) a massive lie about slavery, which regularly broke up black families
2) a curious omission of the War on Drugs and mass incarceration policies that put so many black men in prison, which strikes me as being far more responsible for breaking up families than welfare.

1) a massive lie about slavery, which regularly broke up black families
2) a curious omission of the War on Drugs and mass incarceration policies that put so many black men in prison, which strikes me as being far more responsible for breaking up families than welfare.

Black illegitimacy now is higher than it was when slavery ended. It began to increase before the war on drugs started. The government is a shitty father.

Under American chattel slavery black people were literally property that could be bought and sold at their master's whim. Families were separated daily across the nation under slavery. People at that time lived from day to day not knowing if their mother, sister, daughter, father, etc would be sold off. Black Codes and Jim Crow laws threw many black men in chain gangs and prison because black people were no longer under the the absolute control of enslavement.

People risked their lives to reunite when possible, and at times the black family was more stable than the white family post slavery. But the government fucked that up when it paid poor women to have kids.

The point that Walter was making was, high illegitimacy is not a result of slavery and Jim Crow. Its a predictable example of how society ends up with more of what it subsidizes. Democrats understand this when they want to understand it, like when they call for alternative energy subsidies. But if you bring it up while talking about welfare? No way.
