20% loss of your wealth is bad enough. Losing all your energy and having to go back to your farm is fair I guess. Losing 10 levels you've travelled in the mines? That's nasty. What really takes the cake though is up to 10 items disappear from your inventory. That's any item, not just random shitty ones.

Lost my fucking legendary sword, all the gold I collected and basically all of the loot over some fucking slime. Ouch.

It's actually so harsh that you might as well just minimize and quit and re-do from your last save cause I guarantee there is now way you made more progress than you lost from your last save.

Holy shit...

I was considering grabbing this since it looks (to me) like Harvest Moon, but fuck that...

Really? I'm playing on PC a lot lately and I died once and Linus just pulled me out and was like "lol be careful" and I saw how much I lost and I just quit from the options screen.

Unless it auto saves like the second you die, couldn't you just close the application from the home menu on Switch?

It's honestly a terrific game in every way. Just....don't die in the mines. Don't even let your health drop below 50%.

But losing half (!!!) of your money is a common form of punishment in so many HM games, even if you pass out on your farm.

"Losing 10 levels in the mine"

Yes, the first mine. There's a second mine resets progress daily, so you ALWAYS start from the first floor every single time you go in. Though with the item number naming glitch, you can make iridium farming runs pointless, and I only did so because farming for 10+ iridium sprinklers (it's like 5 bars at 5 ore a bar, on a lucky or super lucky day you'll probably get 10-25 ore depending on if you brought a slot filled with rocks to create stairs for rapid floor skipping)... It gets tedious and you'll end up maxing out your combat level to 10 before long.

My 60+ Iridium ore a day says hi. Bring more Mega Bombs next time. If you're not bringing 20+ Mega Bombs and 5 stacks of stone for staircases don't even talk to me bro

To be fair, dying in that game is really hard. The game pretty constantly throws healing supplies at you, and floors are short enough that (with the exception of the spiral floor layout) you should always be able to reach the exit within 15 seconds or so if your HP dips too low. The exit to each floor takes you straight out of the mines, so if you can make it there you're safe.

If you're talking about the Galaxy Sword you can buy a replacement in the Adventure Guild. If you drop any irreplaceable items they'll show up in the mail soon enough. If you're far enough in the game to HAVE the Galaxy Sword then you should also have enough gold to spring on a stack of Pizzas from the bar, by the way. Also, keeping one stack of 999 stone so you can just drop a staircase and peace out of a suddenly bad situation is a good idea

Nah by "legendary sword" i was just using a generic descriptor to explain the sword I got which far outstripped anything I could buy or regularly find. I think it was an obsidian. Still quite early into the game.

I have put over 200 hours into it and never died once. You really have to be playing recklessly to die.

Mega bombs take so long to farm a stack of that I'm better off just doing an extra 30 run to make up the difference. And that's per day that it would take to create a stack of mega bombs.

?? Why are you not just buying them from the Dwarf? They're dirt cheap

EDIT: Unfortunately, buying stone from Robin for staircases got nerfed :/

The dwarf in the first mine? Do you need a certain friendship level or something?

Just need to find 4 Dwarf Scrolls (I-IV) in the mines. They're random drops from most enemies, can be found if you hoe up dirt, and sometimes pop out of crates and barrels. Donate all 4 to the museum and Gunther gives you a book to translate Dwarfish. After that you can interact with him like a normal villager. I don't remember now if he gets them later on for some reason or not tbh. May be you need to do his quest before he sells them Anyway, he's got them for 1K each or regular bombs for 600 if you're strapped for cash.

I just used the endless stacks of crab cakes and sushi from crab cages. But field snacks definitely are more bang for your buck.
