Hmmmm you have a president telling you you can achieve anything you want and telling you youre in the greatest country in the world and hes fattening up everyones wallets compared to the last 8 years of a president who kept telling you youre a victim, you need the government to supplement your life, jobs are gone and not coming back and our success as a country is undeserved.

That seems accurate. There were so many more depressed and auicidal people under obama. He truly had set up a hopeless future for people.

President Trump is actually doing what WE want, rather than what the European Union tells him.

If Americans are more happy, then why has suicide rates increased under Trump?

https://qz.com/1306176/why-are-americans-so-sad/

Suicide rates in the US have increased nearly 30% in less than 20 years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported June 7. These mind-numbing statistics were released the same week two very famous, successful and beloved people committed suicideKate Spade, a tremendous entrepreneur, trendsetter and fashion icon, and Anthony Bourdain, a distinguished chef and world traveler who took us on gastronomic journeys to all corners of the world through his TV shows.

I believe its also worth considering whether higher levels of stress are driving more Americans to take psychoactive substances and, in extreme cases, take their own lives. Last year, eight in 10 U.S. adults reported feeling stressed during their day, and 44% reported that their stress levels had increased over the past five years. Most people state their stress is due to concerns about the future, money, work, the political climate, and violence and crime.

In addition to our high stress levels, it turns out that only about one in three Americans are happy.

This is happening as US performance on a range of health and social measures has been deteriorating, which has led some to compare America to a developing country. Most other developed countries score better than we do on a range of quality of life indices and markers of health and longevity, including life expectancy, working conditions, mothers well-being, school performance, crime rates and violent death rates to mention a few. Could these factors explain our high stress levels and low levels of happiness?

This is the true state of American happiness.

https://www.citylab.com/life/2018/03/the-unhappy-states-of-america/555800/

America these days is not a happy place. Even though the economy is up, polarization is at an all-time high, and a feeling of malaise, or worse, grips the nation.

Our happiness, or what researchers refer to as subjective well-being, is down across the nation, according to a detailed study by the Gallup Organization and the healthcare information service Sharecare. The study takes into account survey results from more than 2.5 million Americans. It examines how people feel in their day-to-day lives across key dimensions of well-being, including physical health and wellness; having supportive personal and family relationships; financial and economic security; having a sense of purpose; and connection to ones community.

Despite some gains in specific categories, the overall results show a nation where well-being is in sharp decline. From 2016 to 2017, America saw its largest year-over-year drop in well-being in the 10 years that Gallup has tracked these data. Furthermore, 21 states registered absolute declines in their levels of well-being, and not a single state showed a statistically significant improvement in 2017.

This is fake news. The suicide rate has actually thanks to trump decreased by such a large margin that it is now in negative numbers, meaning previous suicide victims are actually un-committing suicide and returning to being alive just so they can experience trump's america.

was this data collected from the period of december 31st 2016 to december 31st 2017? because if it isnt then obama is responsible for the drop in happiness.

I believe all of 2017 was recorded. Yes Obama is certainly responsible for the state of unhappiness in the US (which is why Trump was elected), but when Americans realized Trump was not going to change anything from the Obama administration, anxiety and depression picked up.
