I know there were a lot of you leading up to Trumps election and through the first year of it but seems like you all abandoned the label after the Charlottesville murder.

Could a lefty on here define for me, what a "Regular Rightie" is these days? Or just a plain Trump supporter? Or regular Conservative?

Or do those not exist and everything goes under the "Alt Right" category?

They'll have a new label in a couple of years that will instantly get stigmatized. They don't seem to understand the word by itself doesn't mean anything bad and it's their actions that get it stigmatized. If someone said they were alt-right back in like 2005 people wouldn't be accusing them of being a neo-nazi. They'd probably assume it's some small libertarian type group.

I think we found our first alt righter. And it's only post # 2!

It's really a shame the Democrat party has resorted to demonizing their fellow countrymen and opposite political party just because they (seemingly) have nothing else left to argue back with.

It used to be both parties would, at least, respect each other's views and debate each other. Or make compromises with the majority party so that everyone gets to wet their beak.

Now it's "Republicans are Nazis!"

Reminds me of a political cartoon that compared the platforms of the Democrat and Republican parties. The Republicans had actual items like jobs, economy, border security as their platform. The Democrats had "We hate Trump" as their entire platform.

There is a lot of overlap here; most American conservatives are Trump supporters, meaning at the very least they're willing to look past the ways in which his administration's agenda is that of a nationalist, which is why the alt-right generally likes him. Even the performatively anti-Trump Republicans of Congress are unwilling to challenge him on the vast majority of meaningful actions he takes.

I would say that I don't think people like John McCain or Marco Rubio are alt-right; they're conservatives. They still suck, but for different ideological reasons. For the most part they don't really push the line of open nationalism/xenophobia/racism, in the way the alt-right does.
