MMX1 is one of my top 3 games ever.

Is there a reason to buy this new collection over the Gamecube one?

Fun game, but sure has it's difficulty in places.

Was watching a guy play it blind the other day. Sigma gave him a lot of trouble.

It has all 8 games, tons of galleries, and a challenge mode where you select 3 weapons and go into back to back double battles against various Mavericks. As an example Chill Penguin and Frost Walrus is the first.

Yes 1-4 on one, and 5-8 on the other. The Switch's second disc though is a digital download for some odd reason. The other consoles have two discs. There's also a Steam version.

Some of the trophies/achievements/whatever they call them are pretty interesting. I had never beatn X3 without the Z-Sabre or the Golden Armor.

I heard someone saying that some of the achievements imply there might be an X9 in the works. Don't quote me on that though. >_>

There's a trophy in X5 for getting through the first fortress stage without the time stopper. You know, the Quick Man laser stage.

The trophy is even called "You're Quick, Man."

There's another really hard one for X2 that involves doing Magna Centipede's stage without getting spotted by any of the lights.

Also on the topic of X9 Capcom outright said if the collection does well then they'll do it.

And considering this is the best selling Mega Man game in Japan since X4 I'd say it's doing well

That one's bullshit. The trophies on MMX2, which is my least favorite of the first 4, make it even worse.

The worst part is where you have to drop down the vertical shaft with spotlights. You basically have to know where they are beforehand and even then it's tight

GameCube one is superior IMO. less input lag and real 240p output provided you're gaming on a CRT. The image quality is better.

I can't imagine thinking MMX2 out of all games is hard but then i remembered i've poured several hundred hours in the first 3 X games to the point i can do them in any way possible... these trophies sound fun

I think the input lag is overblown. I think it has a lot to do with your tv. I have a pretty old one (like 2009) and I've barely had any lag. I think the people having a ton of problems are the folks with 4K 1080p 60fps yada yada. I'm not denying it's there, but I think your personal setup is a major factor.

It's not just the tv in this situation though, but also the quality of the emulation software being used in the game. It's just not up to par.
