Basically they won't give in on this because further down the road, what else might they have to give in to based on people protesting? Better healthcare? Better wages? Holding corrupt government officials accountable for their actions?

God forbid the government make life better for the people they represent.

Specifically, the owner of the bus company that was involved in the incident that killed the two students is the country's Minister of Transportation...

Been reading about and watching footage, before it gets clipped anyways, all morning about this. This is absolutely horrible and deserves far more attention than it has gotten. Something like 2 dozen journalists have been beaten, hundreds of students beaten, multiple girls raped, etc. and they are trying to censo all of it.

I remember reading something about how in a lot of these countries, Facebook and other social media sell control to the state so essentially the government is able to control to flow of information through social media and quash any attempts of the truth trying to leak out.

A lot of them have articles up about it, it just gets lost in the noise of everything happening. US ambassador had their convoy attacked last night there as well. But yeah, this really needs to be a bigger thing than is talked about presently.
