What do you do when you and your girlfriend are gaming together?

Nope and she beats me sometimes. Depends on the game though.

I mostly play as I normally would, but if I see she is getting frustrated, I'll give her some tips or hints or let her practice a bit so as to not discourage her. I don't believe people should let anyone win, though, because it is a hollow victory and it takes away when those people actually do win on their own merits.

I see your point but that's the attitude of a man who takes video games too seriously. They're an amusement, a diversion.

It's like that game where you flick bits of paper into a trash can from a distance. If someone enjoys winning and you let them win so they are happy, why is that a bad thing?

Victory doesn't feel hollow to them unless you tell them they won.

I mean how many times have you played Video games with other people? How do you know they didn't let you win?

Nah, she's good at a lot of games in her own right. I don't go try hard mode but I do try and she beats me fair sometimes.

I don't generally take them too seriously, I just see games in general as something that is to be played. What is the point if someone purposely tries to play badly just to make someone feel better, instead of playing as good as they want and just accepting that the outcome doesn't determine anyone's value or sense of pride or anything.

Basically, always play your best but accept that losing or winning means nothing in the long run and losing can be just as enjoyable as winning. That's not taking it too seriously at all.

lol no. i remmeber when we first started dating, she was talking mad shit about how good she was at smash bros, she plays all the time, watches documentaries, etc. now Ive never owned any kind of Nintendo systems, Ive only played smash at my friends houses. also I use the nunchuck and wii mote lol.

so after all this shit talk Im like alright, lets see what you got. we go up to my parents house, borrow their Wii, bring it back home and get to playing. her main was... Shiek I believe. my main was Ness.

long story short I beat her ass like 3 times in a row, and we havent played since cause shes still booty-blistered about getting stomped in her own game.

love her to death, but it felt good shutting her down lol

We literally never play against each other. Most times we don't even play two-player, we just pick a game and take turns. We play stuff with lots of puzzles so we can put our heads together to work out the solutions. I like it best this way since it put us on the same page and we're not just sitting there quietly progressing.

I'm the same honesty.

I'm very good at emulating what I just saw someone else do. I can pretty much double my skill level at a game just by watching someone twice as good as me play it for 12 minutes.
