Look you can chase robbers in a getaway car but literally no officer carries skis in case the suspects take off down the side of a mountain.

lol this actually sounds like a Family Guy gag. The ski mask-clad robbers are robbing a bank in the middle of town, then the police show up and the crooks run for it, jumping onto a few pairs of skis and taking off down the snowy mountainside that just appeared when the camera was inside the building.

Then the Skifree yeti eats them or something.

Real answer. Its a relatively cheap and easy to keep on Mask that conceals your face fully.

And the stereotype probably feeds itself. People see it on the news and in movies and if they ever end up robbing a bank a ski mask is probably the first kind of mask they think of.
