Maybe the rest of the world, including the US, needs to follow suit for implementing the Smart Phone / Smart Device ban for all students at all education levels.

If you're in school, you should be focused on learning / studying; not playing with your Smart Phone.

or you could use the smart phones to learn. i did this a lot when i was teaching at a high school. i told them to take out their phones and look up information. engagement went up once i started doing that.

And Countless generations learned just fine without Smartphones and only Dumb Phones / Beepers.

Smartphones / Tablets / Smart-Devices / Laptops can all be removed in a "Go Back to basics" mentality.

Nothing wrong with taking notes by hand on a piece of paper in a spiral bound notebook.

It's been scientifically proven to help you retain information better when you hand write notes.

Not even 10 years ago you didn't need to get a hold of your kid during class. You called the fucking office.

Damn, times have changed. My wife is a teacher and Parents are usually the first to complain when their kids phone is taken away.

We need to make a Federal Law out of this and follow France's lead in a "Go-Back to basics" way of teaching.

The school I work at makes kids keep their phones in lockers and if they get caught with them they get it taken away and get a detention. All phones do in schools is cause problems.
