Meat is delicious and nothing stops other omnivores from eating both. Diet reasons too, Chicken is a great source of protein for instance.
My appetite is more important than your suffering can apply to every meat eater, not just humans.

Humans are not obligate omnivores, and are capable of considering choice and morality that other animals are not. Nothing about this argument holds any water whatsoever.

There's nothing amoral about eating animals unless you're religious.

How do you figure? If anything, religious people use the excuse "God made the animals for us to eat" instead of thinking critically about how we're all animals and there's no good reason to cause unnecessary suffering and death to others.

Exactly. We're animals, and like all other animals with canines we get to eat the things we can kill. Morality only comes into play with religion and humanity's perceived otherness.

I've killed and cooked my own food before.
I could get a piglet, name it, raise it and love it, then turn it into a delicious Christmas ham.

You said "we can kill," so no it's not.

And while I think hunting is immoral too, I have far less problem with that than someone who supports factory farms.

What's the difference? Factory farms contribute greatly to climate change and pollution, and the animals are subjected to torturous conditions before being inhumanely killed?

No other animal considers the suffering of its food. If humans are just animals and not God's creation, why should we be any different?

You ignored the other half of my post.

If you want to argue the long-term benefit or harm of factory farming relative to environmental damage we can do that, but only if you concede that it's not a moral argument but a practical one. Those are two very different things.

You have yet to convince me that doing something that every other animal on the planet does is amoral just because we do it better.

Even if we accept the ~nature feels appeal~, b12 was more likely naturally gotten from drinking untreated water from ponds than eating steak and eggs every day. We chlorinate water now and live in anything but a natural environment. You're not getting b12 the way nature intended from factory farmed animals that are stuffed with the supplements themselves. Or fortified foods/cereals, which is how many non vegans are getting a bulk of their b12 anyway.

And here we see that once a vegetarian has failed to convince you that meat is amoral, they completely collapse in on their own argument and slink away, because outside of a sense of moral superiority they don't actually have a functional argument that would change their mind if the problem was solved. This is also why Sith took issue with hunters... there's no "factory pollution" argument to be made, but he STILL didn't like it... because the whole basis for his flawed perspective is moral in nature. Take that away... and he has nothing.
