People do it. Its hard work and a lot fail.

Got to start small, and not delude yourself into thinking that whatever your business is will become the next big thing.

Have a main source of income and do your entrepreneurial stuff on the side.

Well, I guess we kind of do. My wife and I own a townhouse that we turned into a rental property, so we have six rental units that are all booked for at least the remainder of the year, so that's a good chunk of change that it brings in with a lot of focused attached to it. Considering buying another townhouse and doing the same as well, so the business might be expanding.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Horrible advice according to Shark Tank. You go all in or it'll never work.

I don't have the drive. I work with a lot of business owners and they tend to be ambitious, the kind of people who make things happen. Kids on the internet think that the low level employees do all the legwork while the owners just crack the whip and collect a check, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

I don't think I could ever do it. I don't feel like I have the ability to manage a company, no matter how small.

I've certainly seen that advice but I think it really depends on what people mean by "do on the side"

Like, if you want your business to succeed, you are going to have to realize that you will have to treat it like a business and you can't just dip your toe in and out whenever you want to. You will have to put full time hours (likely more) in order for it to be successful. If you are able to do this while also maintaining a full time job then I'd say it would be the best way to do things. Just recognize that you will be short on leisure time while you build your business up.
