at all (unless you include the Switch), but it's a strange experience. The small screen, the way that you're hunched over it, and the glare on the screen. Seems quite good playing the Switch like this, though. The reason I was doing it was basically beside I loved being outside, esp. in Summer, and this was the way to do it. The heat wave is still affecting Britain, although I often sit in the shade.

Have people on CE owned many handhelds, over the years? What do you think about playing like this?

It's a bit weird going back to my 3DS considering the graphical improvement the Switch has over it, tbh.

About a month ago I finally saw switches in action. Was at a highland games Scottish fair of all places and 2 kids were taking a break in chairs with switches. Never seen them in person before but I knew what they look like

while i prefer home consoles i have no issues with using handhelds for games that require them, like half the monster hunter series and every pokemon game for instance

Only problem with that is that the switch doesn't have the best screen brightness, so it's hard to play in the sun.

I've come up with a way to combat this problem.

Thank you pinky, that was really helpful. I actually remember you posting that picture a while back.

I still do worry quite a lot about the graphical power of the Switch, though. There are times when it doesn't even seem quite as powerful as the Wii U. I mean, look at Sonic Forces.

There isn't even a Sonic Forces for Wii U, so I'm not sure how that means anything.

And yes it's more powerful than Wii U. Nearly all ports from Wii U (Zelda, Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors, etc) run at a higher resolution.

It was pretty easy to understand what I was saying.

Of course, games like SMG look like the business. Perhaps not quite as good as one might expect from a 9th gen console, but still excellent.

I've owned every Nintendo handheld (one of each generation) since the GBC. Don't really know what to say, the games are great.

To be fair, Sonic Forces still doesn't come to even Unleashed's standards in terms of graphical quality, so it's not like it's the Switch's fault.

Yeah, but it's not good, is it? It doesn't exactly put the console in a good light, for people who might be thinking about buying it. I admit, I was a little disappointed at Kirby, although having said that, despite it not running at 60 FPS despite being a side-scrolling platformer, it had some extremely detailed textures in it. I expect that Smash was look excellent, although of course, fighters often have great graphics, probably partly because they don't have to worry about draw distance.

Sonic Forces was a bad game. Has nothing to do with the Switch.

It wasn't bad, but it was somewhat average, I thought. Levels could've sometimes been better designed, and it could've been like the earlier 3D Sonics, with tons and tons of content, both to complete and 100% the game. Admittedly, a lot of that content was filler, but plenty was good, and the game kept you busy for a long time.

Have Sonic Team lost their touch (again), then? Because I really enjoyed Sonic Generations, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic 4, and NiGHTS 2 was excellent, one of the best games on the Wii.
