Children from ages 4 to 10 were presented with scenarios in which they had to give up chocolates in order to get a cake or plant seeds in a garden to get tomatoes. All children expressed dislike for those who did not contribute and were even willing to give up stickers to punish them. I don't know how this determines who a "freeloader" is. Did the person who did not want to contribute to the group project still get access to the fruits of their "labour"?

But the study doesn't say anything about 4-year-olds being smarter than democrats which is what the site claims.

Seems fair to attack the site then since you can't properly debate the version of the story they put forth beyond "you're a lying garbage hole"

I don't doubt the study itsef, tbh. Even if it's methodology is questionable, children are known to be more vocal about perceived discrepencies in treatment and rule-breaking to gain advantage, especially if it affects them. I can remember the fights that broke out anytime somebody cut in line at the water fountain, lol

There's two obvious scenarios here, that I'm not paying $35 to verify:

1. Give 20 kids a piece of chocolate each. Decree that the entire class gets cake if 15 chocolates come back.
2. Pretty much 1, except each kid has the option of skipping cake and keeping his chocolate.

I'm assuming #1, but they both have interesting dynamics to examine.
