addicted to jrpgs mainly but the one genre i have skipped the most is platformers, if i had the luxury of owning all consoles right now, i would try each genre, even a 3ds would be well worth for me

Cy - do you play Terraria? I need help!

Sorry no. The nonlinear construction adventures I never got into. I admit I did try Terraria for a couple of hours, but knew that I wouldn't connect with it in the long run.

i can't really play console games anymore. most of them are too simple for me to enjoy. I think last console game I beat was GTA V. I think PS4 is my last console I will buy for myself.

I pretty much only play grand strategy/4X/RTS games on PC anymore.

I'm 39, only watch tv when its with my wife or kids so I play maybe avg of 1-2 hours a day. Open world games are what I prefer but co op multiplayer is great too.

I'm 36, and while the last couple years I really have tried harder to not go crazy buying things, my backlog is just enormous... and while I rarely get games brand new at fill price (I do occasionally but only if its something I'll play right away), I see a game on sale for 30-40, buy it, and then never touch it and eventually its down to like $10 or a free "Games with Gold" or PS Plus game. :(

So just being an adult with adult responsibilities made it harder to find time, but now I've got a baby at home and that has pretty much killed my game playing time since she was born.

I still like some of the same stuff I always have... Mario and Mega Man platformers are always my favorite. But I used to *love* big RPGs, like the Final Fantasies, and stuff like Metal Gear Solid with all the cut scenes and story. I still like some RPG game mechanics in theory (grinding and leveling and stuff is kind of fun), but man, I just don't have time or interest in the big crazy stories in games like that anymore. I did manage to play through Bravely Default but I just skipped all the dialogue and used the map to figure out where to go next.

Super hyped to get Mega Man X Collection today and Mega Man 11, even though I have no idea when I'll have time to play, and Super Mario Odyssey was the last game I really had time to get through before the baby showed up... usually prefer 2D Mario but that was a really great experience!

I wait till games are heavily discounted to under $10 nowadays.

my taste in games moved towards indy games. I dont play fps (haven't gotten addicted to it since cod mw2. it was half life counterstrike well before that).

still play sports and rpg. sport games got me into tennis soccer and Japanese prowrestling throughout my gaming life.

I checkout a few indy+Patreon games. part of me always wants to be a part of that niche others seldom find. feel that lil risk is taken to make games across the spectrum and every mainstream game is looking to copy the mass formula for success. before smaller game devs can make games for the consoles and PC. now it seems competition thinned out some of the creativity and I feel like a zombie of routine playing the next big game. these indy +patreon games make games not for everyone and can rarely challenge the player differently than what's experienced in the majority of games.

i definitely cut back on playing. I usedto play to beat first then move on. now I play from time totime and 3 hr sessions is it for me. any longer and I'm want to get out of the house. my backlog library is growing from games I want to play eventually. these days though usually find me in black desert online waiting for starcitizen to go public and readily available to anyone.

I like that modern games have rich stories. The games when I was a kid were very basic and you were lucky to get a basic cutscene. As a child, the Ninja Gaiden games were thought of as cinematic just cause in between levels it had a like 30 second cut scene

I sold all my collectable games when i was 25 or so and it was a mistake. Not because I wanted to play them but SNES/PS1/N64/Saturn/Dreamcast games I sold have pretty much all gone up significantly in value. the stuff I sold for like $3500 in 2007 or so I could have sold for around $10k now.

My life revolves around fitness.. fitness this d..... JK

I don't make as much time for games, as mentioned above I spend a ton of time hiking/body building. That also is found by my lack of posts on here. In addition I often find that I get bored rather easy with most games out. The last one(s) that truly captivated me was a toss up between Horizon and Automata. The stories, play scale, and overall visuals were captivating.

32 here.

Tastes have changed some. I rarely play PVP anymore. There is too much bull shit to deal with online these days. Griefers. Trolls. People who don't play the objectives. People who don't want to help their team (like playing a 6th offensive player instead of a healer). 12 year olds who want you to suck their dick or call you the n word. Screamers. Armchair generals. People who play music in their headsets. Fragmented communities through DLC. Microtransactions that provide advantages. Etc. etc. etc. I'm just tired of all that bullshit.

Basically I play one player games or co-op games. My time is much more limited but varies much more too. Like about two months ago I started Fallout 4. When I started I was able to squeeze about 3-4 hours a day during 3 or 4 days a week. Then after a while I've kinda lost interest and it's been a week and half since I've played anything.

But yeah, recent games I've beat include Persona 5 (which took me like 4-5 months) and Neir Automata. It's nice cause since the time is limited I pretty much never pay more than 25 for a game. The downside is my backlog is unmanageable lol.

At almost 41, I don't have a huge amount of time to play video games. Especially with two kids of my own and then half the neighborhood treating our house like a 90's arcade that doesn't cost a quarter per game.

I've played three games so far this year. And in the last 3-4 months I've been playing Warframe solo exclusively.

I like games that continue to provide me with things to do no matter how little or how much I play them. This year Warframe and this year and last year BotW being two good examples. Right now if I went back to Rise of the Tomb Raider (which I started before getting Warframe) I probably wouldn't remember a damn thing that is going on in the game.
