All eight movies are on sale on Amazon. Would someone enjoy and appreciate the movies who never read the books?

And no I don't have time to read all the books before watching the films.

I mean, if you have no plans to read the books then sure go ahead and watch the movies.

I'll admit though that some of the enjoyment of them for me was getting to see some of the concepts in action

Just be aware that the movies will leave out some details / change a few things up due to time constraints. The books are all better at the end of the day.

You really should read them if you're interested enough. You'll miss out on so much exposition.

Figured as much. Maybe I'll hold off on the purchase until I find time to read them one day.

That's how I did it.

Also watched them all after they were all made lol

Never had interest in it. Movies were ok

Yeah I think I'll hold off on watching movies until I have time to read them one day in the distant future.

I should probably add though that the Harry Potter series is probably the most consistent of any book to movie adaptation of just about any other series that I've personally ever seen. Like I said there will be some changes and what not but none of them are too wildly different or story changing.

The movies would be much more interesting having not read the books.

No, they made it so you wouldn't understand the movies unless you read the books.

Yes, obviously you'll enjoy the movies not having read the books. Books are a waste of time when films and wiki pages exist.

The movies are really hard to follow
I never read the books but clearly more happened than could fit in the movies so they always felt shallow with no depth/no character development

I'd watch them first. Honestly, they're great movies and you won't miss anything watching them first.

Going back later you'll get some missed details and you'll probably put the casts faces to the characters but that's perfectly fine cause the casting is perfect.

I personally like movies 1-3 and 5 over the books. 4 is probably tied for me. Only 6 and 7 have way better books than the movies and even then the movies are still top tier.

Skip 4 and 5 if youve read the books. Expect 6 and 7 to have some glaring differences, but nothing too bad.

4 and 5 just...suck. Obviously they were fat ass books but ugh. The way these two movies condense everything is not done well.

Same as pretty much any movie or show based on a book. You miss out on enjoyment if you read the books first because you're going to complain about things that are different or left out. Obviously.

They're childrens lit, not like it's hard. I've read books where a single chapter is longer than the first hp

The first three movies are great. Not much is cut and the content works well as movies. Four and five are horendous as movies. Four especially. So much is cut out that the movie would make no sense if you did not read the books.

Six is ok and both parts of seven are good as movies.

Theyre really cool. Tons of people saw the movies and never read the books. Honestly, seeing at least one movie is helpful so that you can picture the characters and settings, should you choose to read it.
