Board 8 > I bought Danganronpa 1+2

B8 convinced me to try Ace Attorney, 999, and Persona 5, so I finally broke and decided I needed to try Danganronpa too

what should I know before playing it? I know it's sort of Ace Attorney-ish where it's kind of a visual novel but more interactive with like mystery solving? '

Its just Zero Escape combined with Ace Attorney. That's literally it.

Like Ace Attorney but with more anime, unnecessary action-y minigames, and is not as good.

Also 2 is quite a bit better than 1.

If you're not super into 1, 2 and V3 are waaaaay better.

Don't look up any characters under any circumstance. DR is spoiler hell.

I get why saying it's like such and such crossed with such and such makes sense on paper, but it's selling it a but short. DR is VERY much it's own thing.

And although they get brought up together a lot, AA, Zero Escape, and DR are going for way different things.

I think 'more anime' is a really good descriptor when comparing DR with the other two series. Danganronpa is basically as Anime as something can get without it being 'too far' for me. It's good that Johnbobb played Persona 5 first to get him more used to the anime aesthetic, because I think he usually plays different kinds of games than this.

yeah I mostly play western games

favorite games include stuff like Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, God of War, etc.

90% of the eastern games I've played have been from B8's recommendations

I do watch some anime though (Food Wars, Death Note, & One-Punch Man are my favorites)
