They attached it to an xbox. Luckily i was able to reset my password, and luckily I random passwords for each of my accounts...but it's still a shitty feeling

That happened to me many times... both steam and origin. Fucking pain in the ass.

Steam asked me to prove that someone hacked my account... my answer was "I'm not in Russia." It worked.

yea, few years ago they did that to my uPlay account and I hadn't bothered to get it back for like 2 weeks. Dude had been playing my Farcry 4

No permanent damage done and was a good wake-up call to update and upgrade all my passwords

They might have hacked your email actually.

One thing is that for months after my steam and origin was hacked, I was getting daily emails from steam and origin saying that someone tried to reset my password. Like every single day. It was madness.

if want a second opinion, it wouldn't be a bad idea. i had one of my accounts hacked but on a warcraft account once because i believed they wouldn't get me with a strong password i was wrong lost everything for a few days.

I've been considering doing this too, I need to research password apps. Last year like all of my accounts (email and everything) got bruteforced into & and it was terrifying, I have 2 factor authentication on everything now & stuff but it scars you

After lastpass was hacked a few years ago, I made the jump to Keepass. It's super lightweight with a local password database. I keep it in my dropbox.

No, I moved my passwords from being stored offsite to a locally controlled container.
