My god as much I appreciate complexity in each of these factions that it was complete bitch to choose one, but I can safely say the BOS in some ways the least worst because of the bigger picture rather than a morality standpoint (I don't agree what they do to Farmers, but they're putting BOS members lives on the line just to get rid of hostile mutated creatures, etc) with the BOS just to bring some semblance of order to the wasteland.

Institute was a big no after discovering a few things, and lack of transparency.

Railroad was fine, but I didn't agree what they did to the BOS though they were in the right to retaliate back.

Minuteman is literally the safest choice, but I feel like their end goal is only going to crumble as typical wastelanders eventually ruin things.

Personally I don't feel too bad of my true ending choice, I learned Bethesda was making hints that the West Coast and East Coast Brotherhoods are likely to clash in the future, so likely Arthur Maxson is still going to be in charge or someone else. Probably going to be in the next game most likely.

Personally I almost didn't choose BOS at first, but then I learned Arthur Maxson despite his stances that he honestly does pattern off the King Arthur Story, and he does listen to what he comrades have to say after a certain event (even that event was really messed up in a different way). I think his asshole mood is more of a front as not to show weakness more than anything else.

Honestly I think this is the first ever game I ever played that there was no clear cut bright future as Bethesda doesn't provide you what happens next after the ending, you're constantly left guessing and doubting your actions.

IMO the Institute was the best "big picture" choice, since you become their leader and could presumably do away with all the secrecy and evil if you wanted to.

The Railroad was so ridiculously convoluted. Erasing those synths brains, making them think they are human, and then sending them out to live in a world where most humans are hostile to synths? Really? And if you're going to erase their brains, you aren't exactly saving them. You are killing them.

That maybe true but Bethesda never provided that choice and it was pretty evident after the Institute ending, and also those Scientists were pretty independent and most likely wouldn't let the Sole Survivor fully have his way.

This is why I hate Bethesda for rushing this game out, that was bad writing all together with that path.

They gave us armored cardigans, so all is forgiven.

I almost forgot, it was also evident that BOS was changing in the inside as you find hints of it. That was the only persuasion I needed, if I see some small change then likely it will grow bigger. I didn't see that with the Institute unfortunately.

But regardless, Bethesda I think was being vague on purpose since I bet it's for the next game.

I would laugh if all endings ended up leading down some true path, but with alternate tellings just to set up the next game when they make it.

Probably not tbqh, they tend to have a bit of disconnect.
I think what Bethesda was trying to do in 4 was make the factions varying degrees of gray so there was no clear good guys or bad guys. I don't think they were all that successful at it
