I doubt this was to honour him. This was to shame him.

What the fuck ever happened to "don't speak ill of the dead"?

The family of a New Orleans teen tragically killed in a shooting last month wanted their loved one's funeral to honor him just the way he lived

What the fuck ever happened to "don't speak ill of the dead"?

say what?

It says in the article it was done "to honour him". But this doesn't have a respectful "this is what he loved doing" feel to it. It has a "look at what this useless bastard wasted his life doing" feel to it.

It's disgraceful.

Jesus, the comments on that Twitter post.

It's creepy. And why are the Doritos not opened? And how are they going to straighten his legs to bury him? How much did this cost? Lord

Theyre probably just gonna cremate him after. Thats the only thing I could see happening cause I dont think they can straighten him back out

The people that deal with dead bodies, have to break their bones. Thats what they usually do.

It's New Orleans, it's a cultural thing over there. I'm not surprised this was done by Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home, they specialize in this sort of funeral staging.

I know, but I still find it hilarious that's what the first guy mentioned first.

On that topic, as gruesome as it is that IS what they have to do. Preparing a body for a funeral is a gruesome job. I once read a story about a culture where they would cremate bodies in an open pyre, and to prepare the body you had to snip the nerves in the waist. Otherwise the heat would make the nerves contract, and the dead body would sit up as it was burning in front of everyone.
