Now is a good time to buy some property and start a business there. The research I've done suggests they're really friendly to investors and entrepreneurs because they want more development. Could be a really cool experience to snatch up a property close to the ocean and then start something that helps people and makes me a few bucks!

@KILBOTz

Since you were looking at campgrounds, maybe you might be interested in something more exotic like Puerto Rico. It's part of the US so it basically has most of what we'd expect having lived in the mainland USA, but there's enough opportunity for serious improvements that it could make many people rich for providing the service/goods people want.

Someone taking a risk to try rebuilding property, investing in existing businesses, and bringing the goods/services people want absolutely deserves their profit. Nothing wrong with that.

Last I checked most of the island has power and communications back. But they're definitely in need of skilled people and capital in order to beef up their infrastructure.

I live in Chiraq. It's not that bad most of the time. I'd invest here but I think it'll turn into Detroit 2.0 if the property tax situation isn't resolved.

Dude, that island was destroyed by Maria. There's no way those campgrounds are going to be available to the public. In fact, this idea of going to Puerto Rico to make money is faulty. What are you offering to PR? There's no money, no jobs, and the place is still recovering from last hurricane season.

The properties you can buy need investment. Someone needs to rebuild them. You aren't going to just buy and then rent out. Gonna have to do work.

What can you offer to give value to these properties? What are you rebuilding them to be?

Nah, that tropical storm weakened to a remnant low pressure system. It's not going to be as bad as they originally thought, thankfully.

Hurricane season started in June. And a low pressure system was around the week before June.
