The first game was silly all the way to the end, even with the final boss and the true final boss. Quite fitting for a game that was supposed to be a satire of super-violent video games.

While the second game improved the gameplay and while it had some off-the-wall moments, it was still a by-the-books revenge story where Travis even started to question what he was doing. Honestly, I feel that that may have made the second game less memorable than the first.

C although I didnt really see a problem with the revenge motivation, or with a goofy game taking a serious turn sometimes.

I actually liked the more serious approach. Partially because I really like Travis Touchdown as a character, and this story was sort of like an exploration more in depth to his mindset and how he changes/grows throughout.

I like chaotic goofy off-the-wallness, but I'm pretty sure it can very easily be overdone. I didn't feel like it was in the first game but I think if the second game was the same way it would have likely begin to feel stale. I like contrasts, and an absurd over the top silly world's silly moments can be all the more impactful when it's juxtaposed with the ability to be more serious at times as well and is portraying the feelings, thoughts and motivations of the characters in it to feel more alive.

Chaos amongst chaos is kind of meaningless, for an extreme example. Balance is important even for chaos.
