Seems like most Americans would burn their own houses down if their opposing neighbor had to choke on the smoke for ten minutes. All sides have really stupid people who make it damn near impossible for the rest of us to get anything done.

The second you say you don't belong to either side you'll get flooded with insults and memes saying that you just think you're better than everyone else, people in their political cults can't comprehend the fact that things aren't black and white.

There has been a massive increase in partisanship in the US that makes it incredibly difficult to get anything done, as each side becomes increasingly spiteful of the other (though lately it seems like one side is substantially more vitriolic than the other).

Seriously, people have been shielded by their own bubbles for far too long and it's only gotten worse as things became more politically charged throughout the years: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0123507

The third graphic in the link above shows what I'm speaking of clearly enough if people don't wish to read.

I'm not saying the truth is somewhere in the middle (which would be a middleground fallacy or whatever that's called), but people have to be willing to compromise in order to lead, and you have to be willing to compromise often and on issues you don't actually want to compromise on- because that's what compromise is.

But no, everyone likes being stuck in their bubble where the other side is the devil and turn themselves into single issue voters over incredibly simple things you should have been able to compromise on, had you not been politically motivated by outside influences like television, religion (which most of these weren't even issues in the 60s, believe it or not. The Southern Baptist Convention said that abortion was the choice of the mother and physician back in the early 60s!!), and other news sources.

Sony bought Konami and will release a DDR game for the Nintendo 3DS. In this game, you set your 3DS on the floor and stomp on it till it no longer functions.

The two major parties go out of their way to crush nuance in discussions. There's one single way to look at this, and if you don't follow it then you must be trying to undermine them.

It's easier to control people when your message is dumbed down to the lowest point.

I appreciate this information greatly.
