I don't understand how Spider-Man is not a mutant, either. Like, his powers aren't natural; the spider bite caused him to mutate, developing powers.

I don't know about the portal dimension thing (it sounds stupid, but comics are insane, so ...), but the sunglasses are actually specifically made to refract the beams. They are made out of a special material (thus why they are always red). ... Copied to Clipboard!
