Do they really just want to help that person? Do they really want to help at all? Do they just want to feel superior to someone else by taking a higher, condescending position? Why do they think they're helping when they don't even understand what the issue could be?

I think you may have purposefully misinterpreted that, but no. But it is probably why humans and other early man initially started helping each other, and then emotional connections came.

There are people in the world that want to help others without expecting anything in return. Sounds like you're just looking at it in a bitter manner

Make others feel good and have a load lifted off their backs and give yourself satisfaction as well. Good way to make friends as well wholl (hopefully) pull their weight in helping you in return.

That's what I'm saying.

I do it because I like to do it. I don't want a reward. I don't want anything back. A simple thanks is perfect. After being nice for a while you learn that it's so much easier just being nice and it makes your world a lot better and a lot happier.
