I liked Amelie. In general I dont know much about French film except that they were a leader in movies at the start of the 20th century and seem obsessed with reminding people about that.

If you're going to try and do character assassination, at least get your facts right. They were considered leaders in the 1960s and 1970s, not "at the start of the 20th century".
