And it wouldn't even start until next month, whereas I've already taken on many more responsibilities since January.

I've worked here for almost 10 years. Even with the 20% raise, I would still be making $1,000s less than prior employees who were doing only one of these responsibilities. Even the receptionist/assistant who quit in December was making more than that, and she mainly browsed Facebook, Snapchat and texted during the day and complained about being bored rather than actually doing work...

I was going to quit in 2014, the exact week I was going to announce my departure is when we got audited. I thought I should at least stay for the audit, and I helped save the company over $100,000. But the audit went on for years and only finished recently, and shortly after that the other girl quit.

20% is a pretty substantial raise. Is this your only raise in 10 years?

20% in 10 years is nothing for jobs that actually give raises. That's completely standard 2%/year. They're probably just covering ass after the audit and realized they haven't given OP his contractually entitled 2% every year.

In general, but not when my salary even with a 20% increase is still less than everyone else who has worked here in my entire time here. I've had 3 raises over the years but it has only been raises such as $2,000 or $3,000, whereas other employees had $6,000 - $10,000 raises.

It's actually about 1.85% every year to get 20% in 10 years. 2% every 10 years is 21.9%

Well you should have fucking found a better job instead of letting them fuck you for 10 years.

I don't understand why people have blind loyalty to the companies that try to fuck them every way they can

I have gotten 25% increase in four years with another raise coming soon(plus greater opportunity for tips tips the shifts I get.)

And I work at a corporate restuarant in food service.

Unless your base pay is really damn good AND you like the job yeah try to find something else.

Meh pay is a solid tradeoff for the job being relaxing and easy I guess.

This is why you jump ship when you can. Especially if the company was undervaluing you then.
