Bad_Mojo 07/04/18 8:18:30 PM #1:	I didn't even know they were doing this The Wrap reports that Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) will direct New Line Cinemas The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to the HBO series The Sopranos, from a script by series creator David Chase. Taylor previously won an Emmy n 2007 for Outstanding Directing for the sixth season episode Kennedy and Heidi, and he directed several other episodes from four different seasons. The prequel will be set in the 1960s during riots in Newark, New Jersey, with tensions high between the African-American and Italian communities. Several characters from the series will appear in the film. Lawrence Konner, who also worked on the show, co-wrote the script. Chase will produce and helped find the director. Nicole Lambert will executive produce. The Sopranos ran for six seasons over eight years between 1999-2007. It won 21 Emmys from 111 nominations, including a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series every year it was eligible.
