My Galaxy S6 camera is lousy, but my S7 one is pretty good. If I want an even better camera than that, what would you recommend?

Why do people care about phone cameras?
They've been "great" for the last few years, and anyone who takes "real" pictures would get a DSLR.

So far, my iPhone X's camera seems to be best.

I have a DSLR, I can't pull out a DSLR and turn it on and focus it to photograph a scene that exists for 2 seconds now, can I?

I like the camera on my S8+. Fiance has an iPhone 7 Plus and her brother has a X, so I often compare. My pics always come out better than theirs, but I think I'm just more adept at taking shots.

I also use the native Link Sharing to send my pictures/videos to my contacts. That way, they retain their native, uncompressed resolution as opposed to sending via text or email.

every smartphone I've used post-2013 had at least a "good enough" camera

and even in 2013, some phones were fine but it wasn't a given. Now you pretty much have to buy some off-brand Android phone for $200 to get a sub-par camera.

None. I don't give two fucks about taking pictures. I pretty much just use it a work to photograph shoplifters

I'm a photographer by trade and the only camera on a phone I'll ever opt to use over my normal camera body setup is the pixel 2 XL

That's cool actually! I've been dabbling with DSLR photography but not the best.

I just wrote up a big reply that got eaten :(

If you're a photographer you're going to take better pictures regardless of the device. Most modern devices work well enough.

The Google portrait mode is phenomenal for easy shots

Awesome! Looks like professional quality.

Well with my Nikon DSLR, I'm still trying to get my exposures to come out sharp. The shot overall might look decent, but becomes a bit fuzzy when I zoom in.

With digital photography (even on phones) the post processing is vital to learn. You should be shooting RAW
