I was walking out of the parking lot of my condo when someone was approaching me from ahead who would have to cut in front of me to either cross my path or turn around to exit.

I decided that since I was walking straight ahead, I had the right away. As I went ahead of him before he crossed, I heard him go "Whew..." out of anger which ticked me off even thought neither of us said anything.

I feel justified since I was going straight forward.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who takes "rules" into consideration while other people just barge their way through and get offended.

I stopped reading there. You can't tell us what happened, only what you saw and how you felt. We can't help you since the story will already favor you since you're the one telling it

You were in the right. You never cross in front of somebody and slow them down to let yourself go. The other guy was literally butthurt because selfish people think everybody should stop and dive out of the way so they dont have to slow down.

A lot of us let people like that bully us. Im glad you won.

He was overweight, bald and had tattoos. Probably a jerk but I don't jump to conclusions.

There is no "would of", "should of" or "could of".
There is "would've", "should've" and "could've".

Torn between two minds. Is either correct? Perhaps together.....but how? Can it be done?

No, not really. Just things like this. Nobody that really tells these stories ever paints themselves in the bad light. They always think they're in the right and looking for other people to agree with them.

And it isn't always that they're lying, it's just what they saw or how they felt. Take TC's story for example. Maybe the guy that cut him off thought he had enough time, but TC started to move faster and it fucked up his entire trajectory? Just stuff like that. If the bald guy were telling the story, he would talk about how he went to move over and some guy just kept walking in a line and wouldn't get out of the way. That's what he saw, that's what he felt

What I'm saying is that we, the people, can't really decide who was in the right when one of the people involved to see if their choice was correct is the one telling the story. If TC were a third-party, then what he saw has a bit more merit since they're not trying to make themselves look like the good person, since no one ever makes themselves look like the bad person when asking something like this.

Just my opinion.
