People who are broken by society. People who decide one day to put the power back in the own hands. What if you stopped caring about being good and did what you wanted and what you felt was right even at the expense of everyone else? Of course there's a revenge fantasy element for characters like that. Killmonger adds that extra layer for people because he's lived under an oppression that is relatable to a lot of people. I think these sorts of villains end up being the best. They represent the worst of what you could potentially be if you stopped trying to be good. Thanos is awesome. But none of us are out there arguing to kill half the population to save our planet.
