They were banned here for a long time. Then they gave up and allow it only for the 4th.

On top of fire risks, there's also the fact that it creates millions of pounds of garbage a year. Can't even recycle it because of the stuff used in them. No clue about composting but ideally you'll soak it with water after it it finished firing.

I actually agree. My city and its neighboring counties have had some very serious fires that start in the summer time because we always have fields of dry, dead grass. On top of that, they scare the crap out of animals.

If you want to see fireworks, then go to the controlled display at city park. If you want to light fireworks, then too bad.

Not to be rude, but the environmental concerns are not important to me. Its be safety and the fact that some people dont want to be woken at midnight to a salvo of explosions.

This is what it's like where I live and apparently there are some major bootleg firework operations running out of my town, so there's an endless supply. Every weekend people set them off right around the times you would expect there to be gunfire.

I can only imagine how much it must suck for veterans with PTSD. I mean they don't all sound like gunfire, but hearing constant explosions right around the corner must suck something awful. And of course no one gives a shit.

I hate all fireworks. I just want to sleep. When I was in college, there was some guy across the block that would light fireworks for about a week before and week after every holiday, it was the worst.
