But the flip side of that is that they can also force you to get an abortion.

And if you think "lol that will never happen" you're wrong. It's already happened in other countries.

It's almost like we should stop giving our government more and more power, just because we happen to agree with the people in power when we do it.

If you legitimately believe the government has the power to mandate abortions JUST because you don't like the guy in power, you're the reason we have that problem in the first place.

Roe vs Wade was ruled to be a privacy decision and government interference constitutes a 4th amendment violation.

If that's the case, taxpayer dollars going to abortion clinics is also a violation of the Fourth Amendment, as it's 'interference.'

Last I checked money doesn't perform any surgery. It just kind of sits there and does nothing.

But I honestly don't care if taxes go to abortion providers or not.

Money doesn't fund any abortions, but the pro-lifers always argue that by paying for things like administration and other non-abortion details, that it therefore funds abortion because it freed up money that wouldn't be used for it otherwise.

I know taxes doesn't pay for abortions. I said abortion providers.

But again, I don't care if they get it or not. I think its fucked that government is subsidizing providers but we still need to have private insurance (which is also government subsidized) but that's a larger rant for another time.

The Hyde Amendment (not a constitutional amendment just a regular law), makes it illegal for federal money to be used to pay for abortion, except to save a persons life, or in the event the pregnancy was caused by rape and/or incest.

The government funding optional stuff isn't considered an invasion of privacy, as it's up to the person to disclose it.

Edit: Also it wasn't that abortion laws were considered government interference but that they were considered undue government interference.

While technically correct, that argument goes out the window once you make tye claim that cutting off funding for them from taxes means you're violating Roe vs. Wade, since the clinics will have to close. That is an admission that tax money is paying for abortions.

I've never seen anyone make that claim.

Something along the lines of a tax penalty for getting an abortion. As long as it's a tax and not a fine it would be constitutional.

It already costs anywhere from $400-1000.
